Ma Rui

Rui focuses on investment in new materials and the frontier biotech sector. He is looking for innovation in materials and bio-chem technology resulting in sustainable business growth.

Prior to joining Frees Fund, Rui had worked for years in Ministry of Environmental protection, China. Rui has over a decade of research experience in nanomaterials and environmental chemistry.

Rui has a Civil and Environmental Engineering PhD degree from CMU. He also has a bachelor's and a master's degree from Tsinghua University in Environmental Engineering. He was the President of Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) CSSA and founder of CMU Summit.
