Rahul Katdare has a long and diverse work experience. Rahul started their career in 1997 as a Junior Engineer at Kirloskar Oil Engines Limited, where they prepared and implemented comprehensive plans for upgrading and managing computer design lab and led design team to develop engine parts in Pro-Engineer software and analyze with ANSYS. In 2000, they became a Graduate Teaching Assistant at University of Washington, where they were the project leader for three Final Year Student Capstone projects for Allsop, Inc. and Boeing, and managed other teaching assistants. From 2002 to 2003, they worked as a Research Assistant at Noaa Marine Fisheries, where they were the project lead for upgrading Oracle 9i to 10g and designed and implemented a project and content management website for Northwest Fisheries Science Center (NWFSC) with ASP . NET and Oracle 8i. In 2003, they held a Programmer Intern position at Philips Health Systems North America, where they developed software for DICOM SOP verification module on ultrasound system using VC++, COM and XML, designed and implemented deploying of new releases of in house MIP (Medical Imaging Platform) module by using XML and Visual C++ on all ultrasound systems, and designed and developed UI components for service and system administrator module on iU22 ultrasound system using ASP, SQL and JavaScript. From 2006 to 2008, they worked as a Data Science Consultant and Sr. Algorithm Scientist at VisionGate, Inc., where they used machine learning with MATLAB & SAS for classifying different cell types using 3D Image Data, primarily using AdaBoost Logit Regression and Random Forest. Rahul tested, validated and implemented different cell classification models. Finally, since 2020, they have been working as a Data Science Manager and Senior Data Scientist at Freespira, Inc.
Rahul Katdare received their Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Mechanical Engineering from Savitribai Phule Pune University between 1993 and 1997. Rahul then went on to receive their MSME in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington between 2000 and 2003.
