Nicole Johnson

Nicole Johnson is a seasoned professional in diversity, equity, and inclusion, currently serving as the Creative Director and Founder of the Harriet Tubman Effect since December 2021, where efforts focus on dismantling systemic oppression through participatory action research. In addition, Nicole holds the position of Inclusive Workplace Advisor at freestyle+ since July 2023, providing strategic guidance on workplace wellness and inclusion. Nicole previously worked as the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Mathison, overseeing various initiatives to enhance diversity hiring and retention strategies. As the Founder and Creative Director of M.O.V.E., Nicole facilitated socially responsible artistic projects, while earlier roles included consulting for the NYC Department of Education and serving as an Engagement Specialist for ThriveNYC. Nicole is pursuing a PhD at New York University, building on a Master’s in Education Leadership, Politics, and Advocacy obtained from the same institution.
