Clare King

Clare King has over 17 years of experience in the energy sector and is currently the Partner and Head of Clean Energy, Waste & Sustainability at Freeths LLP. Clare specializes in clean energy projects and provides regulatory and commercial advice in areas such as low carbon incentives, power management, and grid connections. Prior to Freeths LLP, Clare worked at Osborne Clarke as an Associate Director and Senior Associate, focusing on renewable energy, waste, and sustainability projects. Clare also has experience in corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters in the energy sector from their time as an Associate at Hogan Lovells International LLP. Clare has a particular interest in innovative power projects and has advised on battery storage deals and EV charging infrastructure.

Clare King's education history begins with their attending St Mary's School from 1990 to 1997. During this time, they pursued A-levels in Biology, Chemistry, Maths, and Geography.

After completing their secondary education, Clare went on to Durham University from 1998 to 2001. Here, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Sciences.

Subsequently, Clare attended the University of Cambridge from 2001 to 2003, where they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Law.

Following their time at Cambridge, they enrolled in BPP Law School in 2003 and completed their City LPC degree in Law in 2004.

After a break, Clare returned to their studies in 2009 and attended Cass Business School, where they pursued an Executive MBA. This program lasted from 2009 to 2010.
