Melanie Williams has extensive experience in legal services, particularly in the area of mental capacity and deputyship. Since January 2015, Melanie has served as a Professional Deputy at Freeths LLP, focusing on clients with acquired brain injuries, learning disabilities, and dementia, and is appointed to the Office of the Public Guardian's Panel of Deputies. Prior to this role, Melanie worked as a Solicitor and Professional Deputy in the Court of Protection Department at Osborne Morris and Morgan from April 2009 to December 2014, managing over 80 deputy matters involving catastrophic personal injuries, social care, NHS funded care applications, and property and affairs applications. Educational credentials include a STEP Diploma in Estate Administration from the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (2009-2011), Law Society Finals from the College of Law, Guildford (1992-1993), and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Hons from the University of the West of England (1989-1992). Melanie's foundation in legal education began at Wycombe High School (1983-1989).
