Nicole McElroy

Nicole McElroy has a wealth of experience in recruitment and people operations. Nicole began their career in 2009 as a Teacher at Capital City Public Charter School, teaching high school Humanities and then pivoting to teaching elementary school (all subject areas). In 2014, they joined E.L. Haynes Public Charter School as a Human Capital and Recruitment Manager and Recruitment Assistant. Nicole then moved to Equitas Academy Charter Schools in 2015, where they served as Talent Manager, supporting yearly hiring for 50-80 instructional and non-instructional positions as new schools opened and grade levels were added. Nicole also supported employee onboarding, benefits administration, payroll, and employment verification. In 2017, Nicole became the Recruitment Manager at American Academy of Dramatic Arts-Los Angeles. In 2018, they became an Independent Consultant for recruitment consulting for nonprofits, mission driven organizations, and start ups. In 2019, they joined NuORDER as a Senior Manager, People Operations and Talent Partner. Nicole managed People team members and oversaw People Operations, HR, and Recruitment. In 2021, Nicole became the Recruitment Lead at FreeWill, an award-winning, social-good startup. In this role, they manage a team of Recruiters and oversees recruitment and hiring to support company growth.

Nicole McElroy holds a Master's Degree from Trinity Washington University and a Bachelor's degree from UC San Diego. Nicole is also certified as an Associate Professional in Human Resources by HRCI.
