Emily Sonant is a Mechanical Engineer currently employed at Frequency Electronics, Inc. since September 2023. Previously, Emily worked as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Bren-Tronics Inc., where new battery charging adaptors were developed, and contact clips were optimized through finite element analysis. Emily has also held roles in leadership and outreach, including serving as Secretary/Event Coordinator for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers at SUNY Stony Brook, and as Secretary/Chair of Community Outreach for Seawolves for Israel. Intern experience includes manufacturing engineering at Curtiss-Wright Corporation and research assistance at the Center for Thermal Spray Research. Educational qualifications include a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stony Brook University.
