Friendship Force International is a global movement built on a simple, powerful idea: when people connect personally — sharing meals, stories, and experiences across cultural divides — prejudice dissolves and unity grows.

Founded in 1977 with the support of President Jimmy Carter, we've spent nearly five decades transforming ordinary people into global citizens. Through immersive homestay journeys, cultural exchanges, and person-to-person connections, we help members expand their worldview, deepen their sense of belonging, and form friendships that last a lifetime.

Today, we're a worldwide community of 10,000+ active members across 60+ countries and nearly 300 member hubs — with 300+ journeys taking place each year. We've received a Nobel Peace Prize nomination and been celebrated by global leaders and UN officials for our grassroots approach to citizen diplomacy.
We are non-political, non-religious, and non-discriminatory — because real friendship needs no ideology. Just open hearts and curious minds.

Our Mission: Building global unity through human connection.
Our Vision: A more united and peaceful world built on friendship.
