Simon Fox has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Simon currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Frieze since April 2020. Prior to that, they held the position of Non Executive Director at RAC starting from September 2019. From September 2012 to August 2019, Simon was the CEO of Reach plc. Simon also served as the CEO of HMV Group plc from September 2006 to August 2012. Simon has held various roles in Kingfisher plc, including COO of Kesa Group plc and CEO of Electricals E-Kingfisher from 1998 to 2006. Before that, they founded and served as the CEO of Office World from 1989 to 1998. Simon started their career as a Managing Director at Sandhurst Marketing plc from 1986 to 1989. Prior to that, they worked as a Consultant at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) from 1984 to 1986 and as an International Officer at Security Pacific Bank from 1982 to 1984.

Simon Fox attended St Paul's School from 1973 to 1979. Simon then went on to study Economics at the University of Cambridge from 1979 to 1982.

Frieze is a media and events company that comprises three publications, frieze, Frieze Masters Magazine and Frieze Week; and four international art fairs, Frieze London, Frieze Masters, Frieze New York and Frieze Los Angeles. Additionally, Frieze organizes a program of special courses and lectures in London and New York through Frieze Academy. Frieze was founded in 1991 by Matthew Slotover and Amanda Sharp, with the launch of frieze magazine, the leading international magazine of contemporary art and culture. In 2003, Sharp and Slotover launched Frieze London art fair, which takes place each October in The Regent’s Park, London. In 2012, they launched Frieze New York, which occurs each May in Randall’s Island Park, and Frieze Masters, which coincides with Frieze London in October and is dedicated to art from ancient to modern. In February 2019, Frieze launched Frieze Los Angeles at Paramount Pictures Studios, Los Angeles.
