Naresh Sunkara

Naresh Sunkara has extensive work experience in the technology industry, spanning over two decades. Naresh is currently the Head of Engineering at frogdata since 2023, overseeing the company's engineering department. Prior to this, they worked at XCOM Labs as a Platform Engineer from 2022 to 2023. Naresh also served as the Sr Director at Isima.io from 2021 to 2022. Before that, they held the position of Head of Engineering at Drishti, where they led a team in building a product for time and motion studies in the manufacturing domain using Deep Learning, Computer Vision, Big Data, IoT, and Cloud Technologies. From 2017 to 2019, Naresh worked as the VP of Engineering at Cambium Networks. Naresh gained significant leadership experience at Cisco Systems as the Senior Director of Networking Software Engineering and Wireless from 2012 to 2017 and as the Director of Network Operating Systems from 2009 to 2012. Naresh also held roles at Fiberlink Pvt. Ltd., Symbol technologies, Motorola Company, Symbol Technologies, and NetContinuum, where they developed expertise in software engineering and network management.

Naresh Sunkara completed their Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, from 1986 to 1990. Naresh then pursued a Master of Engineering degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) between 1990 and 1992. Prior to these higher education degrees, Naresh obtained their high school diploma from Sector X school between 1979 and 1985. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications from Coursera, including "Neural Networks and Deep Learning" in 2021, "Big Data Analysis with Scala and Spark" and "Java Programming and Software Engineering Fundamentals Specialization" in 2017, "Algorithmic Toolbox" and "Functional Program Design in Scala" in 2016, "Mining Massive Datasets" in 2015, and "Bioinformatics Algorithms (Part 1)" in 2014.
