Mircea Matei

Mircea Matei currently serves as a Shift Lead and Border and Coast Guard Officer at Frontex, focusing on various border control operations including surveillance, search and rescue, and counter-terrorism. Previously, at the OSCE, Mircea held multiple roles such as Team Leader and Operations Officer, managing international monitoring teams and overseeing operational directives in Ukraine. The earlier career in the Romanian Border Police involved handling border security and travel document checks. Mircea holds a Bachelor of Laws degree, a Master’s degree in International Relations and Affairs with a focus on European Security, and is pursuing a PhD in International Relations and Affairs at Babes-Bolyai University.
