Joel Langston, PMP has a diverse work experience in various engineering roles. Joel started their career in 2009 as a Waiter at Seven47. In 2011, they worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Georgia Institute of Technology. From 2012 to 2014, they served as a Summer Intern at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, where they worked on optimizing control parameters for future collision avoidance systems.
In 2014, Joel joined BBYO Passport as a Trip Staff member, providing guidance and serving as a positive Jewish role model to Jewish teens on summer tours. At NORDAM, they worked as a Liaison Engineer and Technical Trainer from 2014 to 2015. Here, they were responsible for producing engineering repairs for aircraft component damage and optimizing the repair facility in Tulsa, OK.
Joel then joined General Atomics Aeronautical Systems in 2016 and held multiple roles. Joel started as an Aerospace Liaison Engineer, supporting R&D facilities for UAVs. Later, they worked as a System Integration and Test Engineer, focusing on the integration of certifiable predator B aircraft. From 2018 to 2019, they served as a Senior Systems Integration Lead and Test Engineer, and from 2019 to 2021 as a Staff Systems Integration Lead and Test Engineer, overseeing the full integration and testing activities for the SkyGuardian/MQ-9B remotely piloted aircraft.
Currently, Joel is working as a Deputy Lead Engineer at Frontier Technology, starting in 2021.
Joel Langston, PMP, holds a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering with a specialization in Decision and Control Laboratory from the Georgia Institute of Technology, which they obtained from 2011 to 2014. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Oklahoma from 2006 to 2010. In addition to their academic achievements, Joel has obtained additional certifications, including Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute and Green Belt in Lean Six/Sigma from the University of Oklahoma. Joel has also completed a course on Performance Management: Setting Goals and Managing Performance offered by LinkedIn.
