Alan Hsu

Alan Hsu, Ph.D., is an Honourary Senior Lecturer at the University of Newcastle, where leadership focuses on investigating innate immune factors in influenza and coronavirus infections, particularly in relation to asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). With a background in immunology and virology, Alan's research includes developing innovative therapeutics using small molecules and nanoparticles. Additionally, Alan serves as a Senior Research Fellow at Duke-NUS Medical School, focusing on the interactions between respiratory viruses and human innate immunity. As an Associate Editor for Frontiers in Immunology and Frontiers in Microbiology, contributions include organizing research themes on emerging viruses. Alan holds a Ph.D. in Medicine and a Master's and Bachelor's degree from the University of Auckland, contributing extensive experience across various academic and research roles.
