Dorian Florescu

Dorian Florescu is currently a Lecturer in Computer Systems Engineering at the University of Bath, with a research focus on addressing the conflict between the carbon footprint of computational infrastructure and its societal development needs through the integration of conventional and neuromorphic computing. Dorian has extensive teaching experience, having developed and delivered new courses at the university level, including "Fundamental Computing Concepts" and "Mathematics 2," while also supervising various projects and lab sessions. Prior roles include Review Editor for Frontiers, Visiting Researcher and Research Associate at Imperial College London, and teaching and research positions at Coventry University and the University of Sheffield, where Dorian contributed to significant advancements in neural computing and machine learning applications. Dorian holds a PhD in Neural Computation from the University of Sheffield and a Bachelor's degree in Automatic Control from Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iași.
