Fathi Karouia

Fathi Karouia, Ph.D, serves as a Governing Board Member of the ASGSR, focusing on advancing biological and physical sciences research related to space. Concurrently, Fathi holds prestigious roles as Co-Chairman for both the Advancements in Astrobiology and Space Exploration and In-Space Manufacturing and Production Applications sessions at the International Astronautical Federation, where critical discussions on human and robotic space missions occur. As a Research Faculty member at the University of Colorado Boulder, Fathi pioneers commercialization strategies for space technologies. Additional roles include Editorial Board Member at Frontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences, CEO/Co-Founder of ELAB4Space, Affiliate Member at Baylor College of Medicine’s Center for Space Medicine, and active participation with NASA GeneLab and Blue Marble Space Institute of Science, contributing to interdisciplinary research, data science applications, and innovative space health studies. Fathi’s educational background includes a Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology, a Master of Science in Space Studies, and various degrees in Physics and Applied Space Technologies from reputable institutions.
