Gavin Harper

Gavin Harper is a Critical Materials Research Fellow and Faraday Institution Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham, actively involved in the ReLiB project aimed at promoting a circular economy for lithium-ion batteries. In addition to managing the Birmingham Energy Institute, which encompasses 140 academics and significant research funding, Gavin serves as a founding member of the Critical Materials Standards Hub and participates in various advisory groups, including the UKRI Talent Peer Review College and the International Energy Agency's Experts' Group. With experience as a Director at Plas Llwyngwern Ltd and a consultant for multiple engineering firms, Gavin holds an extensive academic background, including a Ph.D. from Cardiff University and multiple advanced degrees in energy and business.
