Jason Shepherd is currently a Professor at the University of Utah and serves as a Scientific Consultant for Aera Therapeutics. Previously, Jason held the position of Associate Professor at the University of Utah School of Medicine, where an interdisciplinary neuroscience lab was run. As a co-founder of VNV Gene Delivery StartUp, which was acquired by Aera Therapeutics, Jason focused on developing innovative gene delivery platforms. Additionally, Jason has contributed as an Associate Editor for the journal Frontiers in Molecular Neuroscience since 2015. Educationally, Jason obtained a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and completed a BSc (Hons) in Neuroscience at the University of Otago, among other academic experiences. Jason's background includes multiple postdoctoral fellowships and active involvement in the TEDxSaltLakeCity steering committee.
