Luke Block

Luke Block is a seasoned publishing professional with extensive experience in editorial and management roles across several esteemed organizations. Currently serving as the Journal Portfolio Manager at Frontiers since October 2021, Luke leads a variety of Life Science Journal teams and previously held the role of Journal Manager, focusing on growth and strategy in Medicine. Prior to Frontiers, Luke was the Global Team Leader for Humanities and Social Sciences at Springer Nature and worked as a Publisher at Macmillan International Higher Education, overseeing the Psychology and Economics lists. Luke's editorial career began at SAGE Publishing as a Senior Commissioning Editor for the Psychology list, followed by a role at Learning Matters Ltd as a Commissioning Editor, where social work and mental health lists were initiated. Earlier experience includes roles at Which? and Bloomsbury Publishing Plc, highlighting a solid foundation in commissioning and editing. Luke holds a Bachelor of Arts in English with Creative Writing from the University of Greenwich.
