Shane Malone, PhD, currently serves as an Associate Editor at Frontiers and an Editorial Board Member at PLOS. Since 2015, Shane has been a Lecturer in Sports Science and Health at Technological University Dublin and has worked in various capacities within the sports science domain, including as a Senior Team Sports Scientist for Mayo GAA County Board and Head of Sports Science for Dublin GAA County Board. Additional roles include Sports Scientist for Ballyboden St. Enda's GAA and National Sports Scientist for the Irish Rugby Football Union from 2017 to 2019. Shane has provided consultant support in sports science and data visualization across multiple elite sports teams. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Human Physiology from Liverpool John Moores University and two bachelor's degrees in Sports Science and Health from Technological University Dublin.
