Steven Watterson is a distinguished academic and researcher with significant expertise in computational biology and related fields. Currently serving as a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Personalized Medicine at MDPI since June 2023, Watterson has held the position of Lecturer in Computational Biology at the University of Ulster since October 2013. Additionally, Watterson has been an Editorial Board Member for Frontiers in Synthetic Biology since July 2014 and was a member of the Life and Medical Sciences Committee at the Royal Irish Academy from 2014 to 2018. Previous research experience includes a Research Fellow and Research Associate role at the University of Edinburgh, where efforts focused on cholesterol metabolism and immune signaling. Watterson earned a PhD in Mathematics from Trinity College Dublin, where a topological version of Lattice Quantum Field Theory was developed, and holds an MPhys(Hons) in Physics from The University of Edinburgh.
