Mike Ullrich has a diverse work experience spanning over 20 years. Mike is currently the Chief Executive Officer at Fisher & Paykel Technologies, where they oversee the development of advanced algorithms, electronics, mechatronics, and cloud technology for motor controllers, motors, and sensors. Prior to this, they co-founded and served as the Board Chair at Fruitometry Limited, a company that provides digital crop estimation services for kiwifruit growers. Mike also served as the CEO of Influx Energy Data Ltd, a tech company that offers energy data services and products.
Before these roles, Mike worked as a Product Strategy, Product Development, and Business Strategy Advisor at I P Holdings Ltd. Mike also served as the Chief Product Development Officer at Invenco Group Limited, where they led a team of technical experts and was responsible for introducing innovation and product management processes. Additionally, they held the position of COO, Chief Operating Officer at Invenco, overseeing engineering, quality, supply chain, procurement, and global service network.
Mike has also worked at Fusion Electronics Limited as the General Manager of Product Management & Design, where they were responsible for product management, design, and engineering. Mike served as the General Manager of Global Design & Product Development at Actronic, leading a team of engineers in designing hydraulic weighing and information systems for quarries and mines. Mike began their career as a Programme Manager & Systems Engineering Manager at Navman Technology NZ Ltd, managing the design and delivery of various platforms and products.
Mike's early experience includes working at HumanWare as a Product Manager and at Symbian as a Technical Consultant in Professional Services, where they played key roles in integrating the Symbian OS into smartphones and leading successful projects for licensees.
Throughout their career, Mike Ullrich has demonstrated strong leadership skills, a focus on technological innovation, and expertise in product development, strategy, and operations management.
Mike Ullrich's education history includes three academic degrees. From 1993 to 1996, they studied at the University of Canterbury and obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering. Following this, from 1996 to 1997, they pursued a Master of Engineering Management (MEM) degree at the same university. In 2010, they attended the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and completed the Ernst & Young Executive Development Programme in Leadership & Management.
In addition to their academic qualifications, Mike Ullrich has obtained two certifications. In August 2021, they completed the Company Directors' Course from the Institute of Directors in New Zealand. In February 2022, they achieved the Chartered Member (CMInstD) designation from the same institution.
