Michael Silverman has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning multiple industries. Michael currently holds the position of Vice President of Strategy at FS-ISAC since December 2020, where they focus on ensuring the resilience and security of the Financial Services sector.
Before joining FS-ISAC, Michael served as the Head of Strategy at the same company from October 2019 to December 2020. Prior to FS-ISAC, they founded a startup in 2016 focused on machine learning, artificial intelligence, and analytics for sports, which they continue to work on as CEO and Founder on the side.
From 2015 to 2019, Michael held various roles at FIS, including VP of Global Head of Enterprise Technology Strategy in the Corporate CIO Office from December 2017 to October 2019, and VP of Development Strategy and Transformation in the Corporate CIO/CTO Office from December 2015 to November 2017.
Michael also worked as a Lecturer at various institutions from February 2016 to December 2018. Earlier in their career, Michael served as the Corporate Head of Technology PMO at SunGard, which is now part of FIS, from April 2013 to December 2015.
Michael also contributed to the growth and sales of a management consulting team at Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC) from December 2010 to April 2013, where they held various roles including Principal, Sr. Strategy Specialist, and Senior/Manager.
Prior to that, Michael worked at Reuters as a Technologist from February 2005 to August 2005 and as a Technology Specialist from April 2004 to February 2005. Michael also had experience as a Programmer Analyst and a part of the Microsoft Research & Development Team at Reuters from June 2002 to July 2002 and from May 2000 to July 2002, respectively.
At the beginning of their career, Michael worked as a Development Consultant at Ockam Instruments and as a Development & Quality Assurance Intern at Computer Associates International.
Michael Silverman completed their education with a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Strategy, Leadership & Change Management, and Finance from NYU Stern School of Business. Michael pursued this degree from 2003 to 2006. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering from Tulane University. Michael attended Tulane University from 1998 to 2002. In addition to their formal education, Michael Silverman has also obtained a certification as a Founding Member of the FS-ISAC Post-Quantum Cryptography Working Group from FS-ISAC in August 2022.
