Paul Reid, CFA, CPA, CMA is currently the Chief Financial Officer at the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA). Prior to this, they served as the Vice-President of Finance & Administration at the Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada (MFDA) from November 2003 to August 2022. At the MFDA, they were responsible for regulating the operations and standards of practice in the Canadian mutual fund industry. Before joining the MFDA, Paul Reid was the Chief Operating Officer at Strategic Analysis Corporation from September 1997 to November 2003.
Paul Reid, CFA, CPA, CMA, has completed their education at various institutions. Paul obtained the designation of Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA) from the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada). Paul has also received the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation from the CFA Institute. Additionally, Paul holds a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree in Finance from Concordia University. Lastly, they have studied Board Dynamics at the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management.
Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA)
The Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) is a new, independent regulatory agency created to improve consumer and pension plan beneficiary protections in Ontario. FSRA was established to replace the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) and the Deposit Insurance Corporation of Ontario (DICO). The agency is flexible, self-funded and designed to respond rapidly to an evolving commercial and consumer environment.
