Thera M. is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in policy management within various government sectors. Currently serving as a Senior Manager, Policy at the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) since 2018, Thera has held several prominent positions, including Manager of Integration and Policy at The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and Manager of Tribunal Relations at the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General. Previous roles include Senior Manager of Alcohol and Gaming Policy at the Ministry of Finance and Manager of Research and Evaluation at the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services. Thera's earlier career involved serving as a Policy Advisor to the Deputy Minister of Finance and Senior Economist in various capacities at the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing. Thera holds a Master's of Science in Regional and Urban Planning from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a Bachelor's of Arts (Honours) in Economics and Human Cultural Geography from Queen's University.
Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA)
The Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) is a new, independent regulatory agency created to improve consumer and pension plan beneficiary protections in Ontario. FSRA was established to replace the Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) and the Deposit Insurance Corporation of Ontario (DICO). The agency is flexible, self-funded and designed to respond rapidly to an evolving commercial and consumer environment.
