Loreen Gitonga is an Investment Analyst at FSD Africa, where responsibilities include investing in and de-risking early-stage transactions related to credit markets, green finance, natural capital, and the digital economy. Previously, as a Corporate Finance Transactions & Advisory Analyst at BDO in East Africa, Loreen maintained client relationships and prepared complex financial models and valuations. Additional experience includes a Corporate Finance Internship at Hyman Capital, involvement in a consulting project at the University of Birmingham, and various roles at the Unclaimed Financial Assets Authority and the National Environment Management Authority. Loreen holds a Master's in Financial Management from the University of Birmingham, a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Finance from Kenyatta University, and ACCA certification from Strathmore Business School.

FSD Africa is a specialist development agency funded by the UK’s Department for International Development working to make finance work for Africa’s future. FSD Africa sees itself as a catalyst for change, working with partners to build financial markets that are robust, efficient and, above all, inclusive. It uses funding, research and technical expertise to identify market failures and strengthen the capacity of its partners to improve access to financial services and drive economic growth. FSD Africa is also a regional platform. It fosters collaboration, best practice transfer, economies of scale and coherence between development agencies, donors, financial institutions, practitioners and government entities with a role in financial market development in sub-Saharan Africa. In particular, FSD Africa provides strategic and operational support to the FSD Network.
