John Dowell

John Dowell is a seasoned professional in economic analysis, financial assessment, and ESG consulting within the Australia and Pacific region. Currently serving as Managing Director at FTI Consulting since April 2023, John leads initiatives in the Economic and Finance Consulting Practice. Prior to this, John held the position of Partner in Financial Advisory Services at HMW Group, focusing on corporate advisory, financial transaction services, and infrastructure feasibility studies from September 2018 to April 2023. John's expertise was also honed at Grant Thornton Australia, where as Partner in Financial Advisory Services from December 2012 to August 2018, the focus was on transactional services and major infrastructure projects. Earlier roles included Director at Queensland Treasury Corporation, specializing in project finance for government-owned corporations, and Director of Energy & Resources Infrastructure at Projects Queensland. John holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Applied Economics from Monash University, earned between 1975 and 1982.
