Derek Hibbard

Derek Hibbard, a Grad IOSH professional, currently serves as the Head of QHSSE - Americas at Fugro since October 2023. With extensive experience in health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSEQ) management, Derek held significant leadership roles at Seadrill, including Global Head HSSEQ Compliance and Performance Improvement and Director HSSEQ Western Hemisphere from November 2019 to October 2023. Previous positions include Director HSE Americas at Ensign Energy Services and Global Director HSE at Trinidad Drilling. Derek's career also features a notable tenure at Weatherford as Global Director HSE & Operational Risk, where responsibilities included overseeing HSE strategy and managing risks for the Marine Well Containment Project following the Deepwater Horizon disaster. Derek's early career involved roles at the Canadian Association of Oilwell Drilling Contractors, culminating as Vice President. Educational qualifications include a Business Management degree from Mount Royal University and various health and safety management certifications.
