Michael Bateman

Michael Bateman, CSP, PMP, currently serves as the USA Ground Vehicle Fleet Transportation Manager at Fugro since November 2021, responsible for overseeing land transportation activities across the USA, including vehicle fleet management and ensuring DOT compliance. Previously, as QHSSE Manager at Fugro, Michael managed USA-Land operations for a leading Geo-data specialist. Michael’s extensive experience includes roles at BP from 2011 to 2021 as a Senior H&S Advisor for Upstream Logistics and various health and safety advisory positions. Prior to that, an EHS Advisor role at the US Department of Energy involved leading ergonomic studies at Strategic Petroleum Reserve facilities, and a 20-year career in the United States Air Force included serving as Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Project/Facilities Safety Manager. Michael holds a BS in Occupational Safety & Health from the University of Central Missouri, an Associate Certificate in Project Management from The George Washington University, and an Associate degree in Electronics Technology from the Community College of the Air Force.
