Ako Shimada

Ako Shimada is a global executive and independent director with over 20 years of experience in corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and intellectual property. They currently serve as an Independent Outside Director at Fujitec Elevators & Escalators and hold leadership roles in several organizations, including as President-Elect of the ACC Southern California. Previously, Ako has been Vice President, General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary at Ushio America, Inc., where they managed legal matters for a publicly traded company. They are bilingual in English and Japanese and possess a J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law.
