Samuel Mercer has extensive experience in the defense and engineering sectors, beginning with an Artificer Qualifying Course at HMS Collingwood in the Royal Navy, where an apprenticeship in Electrical/Electronic Engineering was completed. Following this, Samuel served in various capacities within the Royal Navy, including as the Group Head of the Surface Engineering Communication Intelligence Team, leading the design and installation of communication systems valued over £2 million, and as the Head of the Weapon Engineering section aboard HMS Chiddingfold. After leaving the Navy, Samuel held several roles at Fujitsu, including Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Manager and Service Delivery Manager for the Biometrics programme, before becoming Service Operations Manager in November 2023. Prior experience also includes project management at Roke Manor Research Limited, delivering classified communication intelligence projects for UK Government Agencies. Samuel Mercer earned a BSc (Hons) in Engineering and Management Studies from the University of Portsmouth.
