Ryan Gulland's work experience includes roles as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Fulfil since May 2022, a Research Fellow for Product Hardware Development at the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering from July 2019 to August 2021, and a Product Designer & Prototyper at smoodi from June 2019 to December 2019. Prior to this, they worked as Product Design Teaching Staff at the MIT Department of Mechanical Engineering (MechE) from August 2018 to June 2019. Ryan also gained experience as an Electromechanical Developer for Aqualens from February 2018 to June 2018, where they focused on electrical layout, assembly, and electromechanical integration. Ryan served as the Electronics Development Lead for Coordinate (Product Design Capstone project team) from September 2017 to December 2017, where they developed multiple revisions of PCBs for radio and GPS connected devices. Ryan was an Undergraduate Researcher at the MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) from June 2017 to September 2017. Ryan briefly worked as a Mechanical Engineer at Atlas Devices, LLC in January 2017 and completed internships at Northrop Grumman in June 2016 and Arup in June 2015. At Arup, they worked in the Mechanical Engineering sector and focused on designing and analyzing HVAC systems for the Beirut Embassy Compound, utilizing software such as revit for CAD layouts and performing calculations related to psychrometrics, thermal loads, and pressure drops.

Ryan Gulland pursued their education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2014 to 2018. During this time, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering. In August 2021, they obtained the certification of Certified Solidworks Expert: Mechanical Design from Dassault Systèmes.
