Nick Um

Nick Um is a Senior Mechanical Engineer and Product Designer at Function Engineering, with experience since January 2013 in mechanical engineering, design, analyses, testing, and production across over 20 projects in robotic, medical, and consumer products. Expertise includes designing complex robotic systems, mechatronic systems, and actuator development, along with abilities in low to high volume parts design and production drawings. Prior roles include Design Engineer at UC Berkeley's Human Engineering Lab and Research Associate at the University of Virginia's Bio-Inspired Engineering Lab. Nick Um holds a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia.
