MISSION :  We promote sustainable solutions for safe water, nutrition, and territorial management in Amazonian communities, strengthening their autonomy, ancestral knowledge, and social inclusion.

Fundación Wakani was established in Ecuador in 2024 under the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Ecological Transition to undertake organizational management and maintain the focus and commitment acquired in each project. The organization’s expertise in access to safe water stems from The Waterbearers’ 10-year international experience, including work in the Amazonian Rainforest.

Wakani and The Waterbearers work directly and collaboratively with strategic partners, Indigenous organizations, communities, and local government. They use a bottom-up approach that empowers women to drive transformational change and achieve their goals.
