Iago Martinez

Iago Martinez has a diverse work experience spanning several roles and industries. Iago began their career at Barclays Capital, where they joined as an IT Analyst/Developer through the IT Graduate Programme. Iago worked in various departments, including Futures & Securities IT, Money Markets, and the Credit Risk trading desk.

In 2007, Martinez moved on to St Mungo's, where they served as a Senior Developer for four years. Iago then transitioned to DataShaka in 2011, where they took on the role of VP of Engineering/ScrumMaster. In this position, they played a key role in developing the TCSV data framework and was responsible for innovation, technology improvement, and coaching the team in Agile practices.

After their time at DataShaka, Martinez joined DataKind UK in 2014 as a Core Volunteer, focusing on project scoping. Here, they volunteered until 2017, contributing their expertise to data-driven initiatives.

Most recently, Martinez has been working at FundApps since 2015. Initially joining as an Engineering Manager, they recently advanced to the position of Director of Engineering in 2023.

Overall, Martinez has demonstrated a strong technical background, leadership skills, and a commitment to leveraging data for social good.

Iago Martinez has a diverse education history. Iago began their educational journey in 1991 at Greengates International School, where they pursued an International Baccalaureate degree. During this time, they studied Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, English, Spanish, and History. Iago successfully completed their International Baccalaureate degree in 1998.

Afterwards, Iago enrolled at Imperial College London from 1998 to 2002, where they focused on Computing and earned their MEng degree. Following a break in their education, they decided to pursue a different field and attended the University of Westminster in 2007-2008. During this period, they completed a Graduate Diploma in Psychology.

Additionally, in March 2010, Iago obtained a certification as a Certified ScrumMaster from the Scrum Alliance. This certification showcases their expertise and knowledge in Scrum methodologies.
