Jonathan Rabson has over 28 years of work experience in software engineering, web development, and consulting. Jonathan began their career in 1993 as a Research Analyst at Idea Connection Systems. In 1999 they moved to Soft Source, Inc. as a Software Engineer and then to click2learn (now known as SumTotal Systems) in 2000 as a Developer. In 2003, they joined Eli Research as Lead Developer and Editor in Chief (and formerly Senior Editor and Editor). Jonathan wrote articles on technologies of interest to developers and DBAs and worked as a developer to maintain the website for delivering article content. In 2013, they became a Software Engineer (4-month contract) at Cerner / Deloitte / Deegit. From 2015 to 2016, they worked as a Web Developer / Contractor at McCann Health (through Starpoint Solutions) and Agfa Graphics (through Okaya). At Agfa Graphics, they designed and developed credit-card processing software using ASP. NET MVC Framework, C#, and stored procedures in SQL Server 2008. Jonathan also wrote C-sharp code to parse fixed-length files from an SAP system, using the BulkSQLCopy class for high performance when writing to the database. In 2016, they joined Fundation Group LLC as a Senior Software Engineer and then in 2021 they moved to Linear Financial Technologies as a Senior Software Engineer. From 2009 to 2021, they have also worked as an Independent Consultant / Associate at Strategic Marketing Counsel, developing and enhancing websites for various clients in the U. S. and Canada and writing instructional material on various IT topics.
Jonathan Rabson obtained a Bachelor and Master of Music in Music Composition from the University of Michigan between 1984 and 1990. Jonathan also has several certifications from Coursera and Brainbench, including The Data Scientist's Toolbox (2014), Human-Computer Interaction (2014), Algorithms: Design and Analysis, Part 1 (2013), Introduction to Music Production (2013), Developing Innovative Ideas for New Companies: The First Step in Entrepreneurship (2013), Visual Basic.NET (2013), and Web Developer (BCIP) (2013).
