Elfid Torres

Elfid Torres has extensive work experience, primarily in the non-profit sector. Elfid is currently serving as the President of the Board of Directors at MerKomuna since January 2021. Prior to this role, they held various positions at FUNDES, starting as a Consultant in Business Environment in April 1998 and later becoming the Manager of Studies and Competitiveness from January 2005 to June 2007. Elfid then worked as the International Manager of Research & Development from July 2007 to March 2011, followed by the role of Strategy Director from April 2011 to December 2012. Finally, they served as the Chief Executive Officer of FUNDES from January 2013 until present. Throughout their career, Elfid has focused on promoting the growth and sustainability of small businesses in Latin America.

Elfid Torres has a diverse education history. In 1991, they began their undergraduate studies at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1996. Elfid furthered their education by pursuing a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Development Studies at the University of East Anglia from 2000 to 2001. In 2011, Elfid enrolled at the INCAE Business School, where they completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA). Additionally, in September 2017, they obtained a certification in Leadership Insight Out from Singularity University.
