Tero Tapio

Tero Tapio has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Tero started their career as a Trade Sales Representative at Games Workshop in 2001 and went on to work as an Assistant Store Manager at Puolenkuun Pelit, an independent game store, from 2003 to 2008.

In 2008, Tero joined Blizzard Entertainment as a Game Master, where they provided customer support online and over the phone for four years. Tero then worked at Poromagia OY as a Store Employee, managing retail and web stores, B2B communications, and customer support from 2012 to 2013.

From 2013 to 2016, Tero held the role of Lead Community Manager at Panzar Europe Oy, overseeing and directing the community teams of all languages. Tero was responsible for communications between the community team and other teams, as well as with the developer and publisher studio.

In 2014, Tero joined Shark Punch as a Community Manager, where they contributed to the launch and support of the PC game The Masterplan. Tero was involved in tasks such as communication between developers and players, game design, PR, and cooperation with third parties.

Tero then worked at the University of Helsinki from 2019 to 2020 as a Junior Full Stack Developer, Scrum Master, and Product Owner. In this role, they contributed to the creation and maintenance of web services used by staff and students. Their responsibilities included software development, customer communication, task prioritization and coordination, and team management using technologies such as JavaScript, React, NodeJS, PostgreSQL, and Docker.

Currently, Tero is working at Funidata as a Full Stack Developer, Scrum Master, and Development Team Lead, a position they have held since 2020.

Tero Tapio completed their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in International Business from Lahti University of Applied Sciences between 1999 and 2003. After that, they pursued further education in the field of Computer Science at the University of Helsinki and obtained a Bachelor's Degree with Honours in the same subject between 2017 and 2019. Tero continued their studies at the University of Helsinki and completed their Master of Science (MS) in Computer Science from 2019 to 2022. In August 2022, they also obtained the Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) certification from the Scrum Alliance.
