Frank Weiß

Frank Wei, PhD, is a highly experienced expert in artificial intelligence and machine learning, serving as a Principal/Distinguished Scientist and Director of Data Science at General Motors since 2019. At General Motors, Frank Wei has successfully led teams in the development of large language models for various business applications, achieving significant business growth. Prior to this role, Frank Wei was a Senior Research Statistician at USDA from 2014 to 2019, where responsibilities included leading a team for hog and pig estimate predictions and managing data adjustments and calibrations. Frank Wei's earlier experience as a Research Associate at NISS involved data manipulation and analysis for national education assessments. Frank Wei holds a PhD in Computational Science and Data Science from George Mason University, as well as MA and MS degrees in Applied Mathematics and Applied Statistics, respectively, from the University of Michigan.
