Jonathon Blok

Jonathon Blok has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. Jonathon is currently serving as the Chief Technology Officer at Further, a position they have held since November 2022. Prior to that, from December 2020 to November 2022, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer & Owner for Bloknet, where they provided independent software engineering services on various projects including front-end development for an InsureTech platform at Atos and building a mobile CRM and UI component library using React, GraphQL, and other technologies at Reapit.

Before joining Bloknet, Jonathon co-founded Aura Vision in January 2018, where they worked as the Chief Product Officer. At Aura Vision, they developed and implemented cloud-based AI technology for capturing shopper behavior and demographics, providing comprehensive analytics to retailers.

Jonathon has also worked as a Senior Front-End Developer on contracts for companies including Shell, Funding Circle UK, EF Education First, and Discovery Communications. Jonathon'sresponsibilities included working on global rebrand projects, coordinating development efforts, and building shared component libraries using various technologies such as SASS.

Earlier in their career, Jonathon worked as a Front-End Software Developer for Hubbub.co.uk, focusing on building and maintaining the customer-facing website. Jonathon also worked as a Senior Developer at Super natural, where they developed HTML5 display advertising and web apps for clients.

Jonathon's career started at IG, where they initially worked as a Junior Developer in the Salesforce development team, building internal business systems and client-facing web apps. Jonathon was later promoted to a Developer role and worked on the launch of the company website, IG.com, utilizing the CQ5 CMS platform.

Jonathan Blok attended Whitgift School from 2002 to 2009, where they pursued A Levels in Geography, German, Graphic Design, and Design Technology. Jonathon then enrolled at the University of Leeds from 2009 to 2012, completing a degree in New Media.
