Rick Cooper has a diverse background in network engineering and operations. Rick started their career at Cox Communications as a Field Service Representative III, where they installed and maintained telephony and internet services. Rick then joined Birch Communications as a Network Operations IP Specialist and later as a Network Optimization Engineer, where they played a key role in network acquisitions, optimized core data networks, and provided technical support.
After Birch Communications, Rick worked at Axia Technology Partners, LLC as a Senior Network Engineer, Manager of Network Operations, and Network Engineer. Here, they gained experience in network engineering and management, contributing to the company's network operations.
Rick also worked at GE Digital as a Staff Network Operations Engineer, where they managed firewall policies, troubleshooted Layer 2 and Layer 3 issues, and participated in a project to migrate F5 LTM chassis.
Following their time at GE Digital, Rick joined Lingo Communications as an IP Engineer, where they built Cisco UCS infrastructure and implemented DMVPN to interconnect remote corporate sites.
Most recently, Rick worked at Fusion Connect as a Senior Network Engineer, where they worked on various projects such as data center migrations, core network mergers, and firewall conversions. Rick also served as the last resort escalation point for network-related issues and planned network changes for ongoing projects.
In 2021, Rick joined Fiserv as a Network Engineer IV.
Rick Cooper attended Central Georgia Technical College from 2003 to 2006. During this time, they earned an Associate's degree in Computer Information Systems.
