Brent Halsey has worked in the software engineering field since 1996. Brent'sfirst role was as a System Administrator at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in 1996. From 1997 to 2000, they worked as a Software Engineer at U S WEST. Brent then worked as a Senior Software Engineer at XOR from 2000 to 2001. From 2001 to 2010, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Pearson Knowledge Technologies. From 2010 to 2015, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Jive Software, building metrics collection, data pipeline, and search system. Finally, from 2015 to 2023, they worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Twitter, building distributed backend systems to power the Twitter API. Brent currently works as a Staff Software Engineer at FusionAuth.
Brent Halsey obtained their BS in Computer Sciences and Mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison between 1991 and 1995. Brent then went on to the University of Colorado Boulder to earn their MS in Computer Science between 1997 and 2000. Additionally, they have a certification from Cloudera as a Cloudera Certified Hadoop Professional.
