Jorge Brasil

Jorge Brasil has a strong background in data science, with experience in various companies and roles. Jorge began their career at Microsoft, where they built an automated system to classify text on a gamers feedback platform. Jorge also worked on the development of the new version of Microsoft Paint by analyzing telemetry data.

Afterwards, Jorge worked at Breakthrough Media as a data scientist, where they built a daily data gathering system for content published on social media platforms. Jorge utilized Python and API connections to capture and store data in a MySQL database.

Jorge then joined Hitachi Consulting as a Data Scientist, collaborating on the development of a proof of concept for a container prioritization system at ports. Jorge utilized semi-supervised learning with SVMs and autoencoders to classify containers.

Later, Jorge worked at innogy SE as a Data Scientist, focusing on AI and machine learning projects in the energy sector. Their work included using LSTM recurrent neural networks for predictive maintenance in wind farms and analyzing and improving credit score systems.

Jorge Brasil obtained a Licentiate degree in Applied Mathematics from Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade do Porto, studying from 2003 to 2007. Jorge further pursued their education and completed a Master's degree in Applied Mathematics from the same institution, studying from 2009 to 2012.
