Brittany Fraser

Brittany Fraser's work experience begins in 2005 when they worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Government of New Brunswick. Brittany maintained daily operations and provided support for projects while demonstrating strong communication skills in English and French. From 2007 to 2008, they worked as a Reservation Sales Specialist at Marriott International, effectively selling hotel rooms and resolving conflicts to achieve sales quotas.

In 2008, Brittany started at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada as a Molecular Biology Research Intern. Brittany then concurrently worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Alberta Dept of Biological Sciences. In their role as a Teaching Assistant, they assisted with educational tasks.

Continuing their academic pursuits, Brittany became a Graduate Student at the University of Alberta Department of Biological Sciences in 2008. Brittany performed original research on the regeneration of zebrafish retinas, focusing on cone photoreceptors. Additionally, they adapted a method to genetically and temporally target the ablation of specific cells in the retina.

Beginning in 2011, Brittany worked as a Research Technician at the Medical Microbiology & Immunology, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta. Brittany co-managed a lab and specialized in project planning for high-throughput experiments. Brittany also performed original research related to the innate immune system.

In 2017, Brittany transitioned to the Medical Microbiology & Immunology and Li Ka Shing Applied Virology Institute at the University of Alberta, where they continued their role as a Research Technician. Brittany then joined the Department of Medicine and Li Ka Shing Applied Virology Institute at the same university in 2018, also as a Research Technician.

Most recently, Brittany has been working at Future Fields (YC S20) since 2020. Brittany started as a Senior Research Scientist, specializing in cell culture. In June 2021, they were promoted to Team Lead.

Overall, Brittany Fraser has extensive experience in various research roles, specializing in molecular biology and immunology. Brittany has also excelled in customer service and administrative roles earlier in their career.

Brittany Fraser's education history begins in 2003 when they enrolled at the University of New Brunswick. Brittany completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Biology, General in 2007. From 2008 to 2011, Brittany pursued their Master of Science (M.Sc.) with a specialization in Molecular Biology and Genetics at the University of Alberta.

In 2017, they joined the University of Alberta once again, this time participating in the Advantage Program, where they received Leadership Training. Brittany's education is not currently ongoing, as they have not specified an end year for their time in the Advantage Program.
