Biomanufacturing Lead at Future Fields

Janelle Johnson has a diverse work experience in the field of biotechnology and virology. Janelle is currently working at Future Fields as a Biomanufacturing Lead since February 2023. Prior to that, they worked at the Li Ka Shing Applied Virology Institute, University of Alberta, where they held roles as a GMP Manufacturing Technician from March 2019 to January 2023 and as a Laboratory Technician from July 2018 to March 2019.

Janelle also worked as a Graduate Student at the University of Alberta from September 2016 to November 2018, and as a Junior Husbandry at the BC Cancer Agency from November 2015 to June 2016.

Furthermore, Janelle has gained valuable experience as an Animal/Laboratory Technician at the Li Ka Shing Applied Virology Institute, University of Alberta from October 2012 to August 2015.

Janelle Johnson obtained their Honours Bachelor of Science (H.BSc) in Forensic Science and Biology from the University of Toronto between 2008 and 2012. Janelle then pursued their Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Virology at the University of Alberta from 2016 to 2018. In addition to their degrees, Janelle has obtained several certifications including Animal Handling from the University of Alberta in October 2012, Canadian Firearms Possession and Acquisition License from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in June 2017, and WHIMIS 2015 from the University of Alberta in January 2017.
