Phil Lyon

Phil Lyon has over 20 years of work experience in the technology and investment industry. Phil is currently working at Future Fund as the Head of Technology, a role they have held since December 2021. Prior to this, they were the Acting Head of Technology at Future Fund from March 2021 to December 2021.

Before joining Future Fund, Phil worked at Vanguard Investments Australia as a Manager - Data Services and a SQL Server DBA. Phil was responsible for the overall Data Management function, including Governance across SQL Server, Oracle, and Sybase systems. Phil also worked at Barclays Capital as a Contract Database Developer, where they focused on SQL Server development and migration.

Additionally, Phil has experience working at BNP Paribas Fund Services as a Contract SQL Analyst/Developer, Mizuho Corporate Bank as a Contract SQL Developer, Equity Trustees as a Contract Database Developer/Report Writer, and AirMiles Travel Company as a Contract VB/SQL Developer.

Throughout their career, Phil has demonstrated proficiency in various technologies, including SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase, VB.NET, VB6, Crystal Reports, and Rational Rose. Phil has a strong background in data management, software development, and system integration. Phil has successfully completed numerous projects related to data warehousing, business intelligence, and application support.

Phil Lyon earned a Bachelor's degree in Computing from Monash University, where they attended from 1993 to 1996. Prior to that, they completed their VCE (Victorian Certificate of Education) at Ballarat Grammar School, where they studied from 1989 to 1992. In addition to their formal education, Phil also obtained certifications including the Certified Scrum Product Owner from the Scrum Alliance in August 2015 and the Claritas® Investment Certificate from the CFA Institute.
