Michael Wilcox

Michael Wilcox has a strong background in data engineering and business intelligence. Michael currently holds the position of Head of Data Engineering at Future, where they are responsible for managing data engineering operations. Prior to this, they served as a Data Engineering Manager and Lead Data Engineer at the same company.

Before joining Future, Michael worked at OVO Energy, where they held various roles. Michael started as a Trainee Analyst and later became an Analyst at Ohal, a marketing response consultancy. Michael then transitioned to OVO Energy as a Business Intelligence Analyst, where they were responsible for delivering insights and analysis to support marketing campaigns. Michael was promoted to the role of Business Intelligence Insight Manager, where they managed a team of analysts and focused on improving data quality in business reporting systems. Lastly, they served as a Data Evolution Manager, leading a project to move from complex ETL databases to data warehouses for more efficient reporting and analysis.

Throughout their career, Michael has demonstrated expertise in producing datasets, building ETL routines, utilizing big data technologies, and managing teams.

Michael Wilcox attended Mangotsfield School from 2000 to 2007, where they studied Economics, Maths, and Business Studies at A-Level. Michael then went on to study at the University of Exeter from 2007 to 2010, earning a BA (Hons) in Economics with Econometrics, achieving a 2.1 degree classification.
