Michael Gibson has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Michael started their career at Euromoney Institutional Investor in 1996, where they worked as a Publisher and led significant growth on existing titles. From 1999 to 2001, they served as the Publishing Director at Hillgate Communications, overseeing the launch of Internet World and securing major publishing contracts.
In 2001, Gibson founded Five Coats, a government-focused custom publishing and event audience generation business, which was later acquired by Fat Media in 2006. At Fat Media, they served as the Owner and Managing Director for over eight years, overseeing its growth into one of the largest digital and creative marketing agencies in the UK.
Gibson also worked as a Business Development Manager at Penton Media Europe, where they launched multiple titles within the publishing group. Michael later joined Advertising M&A Ltd in 2015 as a Consultant, providing mergers and acquisitions consultancy exclusively for the advertising, digital, media, and marketing services sectors.
In 2015, Gibson became the Founding Chair and Director of Digital Lancashire, a not-for-profit membership organization focused on improving the local digital landscape and supporting the growth of digital businesses in Lancashire. Michael held this position until 2019.
Gibson joined UK Bathroom Store Ltd in 2016 as a Director, contributing to its status as one of the fastest-growing ecommerce bathroom retailers in the UK. Additionally, in 2016, they assumed the role of CEO at Fuuse, a company delivering an industry-leading charge point management system.
In 2017, Gibson took on the role of Non-Executive Director at Hotfoot Design, one of Lancashire's leading branding, creative, digital, and marketing agencies.
Throughout their career, Gibson has showcased a passion for driving growth, developing expertise, and delivering impactful solutions within the various organizations they have been a part of.
Michael Gibson attended Heysham High School from 1979 to 1985. Michael then enrolled at Ulster University from 1985 to 1988, where they pursued a degree in Humanities with a focus on Politics and Philosophy.
