Christopher Riale

Senior Associate at FXCollaborative

As Senior Associate and urban designer at FXCollaborative, Chris provides leadership and creative design direction for influential urban design and planning projects for the firm. He has over 17 years of experience in urban design, large scale development master plans, zoning codes and development controls, and multimodal transportation planning. His work focuses on the interrelationship between urban design and transportation infrastructure, believing sustainable and resilient city building should be driven by the civic realm and multimodal, pedestrian-prioritized mobility. He has developed forward-looking and sustainable urban designs and master plans that transform people and place.

Chris has overseen, managed, designed, and delivered over 100 projects of varied scales across the United States and abroad. Having lived and practiced in major American cities such as New York City, Chicago, and Boston, he has worked on some of the country's most significant urban development and transportation infrastructure projects for public sector agencies and private developers.

Chris maintains a regular presence at planning and urban design industry engagement events and speaks on expert panels and juries at various professional associations and academic institutions, including the American Planning Association, Urban Design Forum, Urban Land Institute, NY Institute of Technology, Pratt Institute, and Rutgers and Columbia Universities.
