Joe Pikiewicz

Principal at FXCollaborative

Whether overseeing studio operations and strategies as studio director, serving as project manager, or directing urban design efforts, Joseph has an ease with a range of project types that makes him a well-rounded member of the team. His comprehensive communication with colleagues and clients throughout the design and construction process is instrumental to making buildings work both aesthetically and functionally.

Joseph was introduced to dialogue as collaboration within a high school summer program in architecture. This intensely productive and creative studio was the genesis of his pursuit of a double major degree from the Catholic University of America in Architecture and Civil Engineering, and then a master's in architecture at Yale University. Seeking to portray complicated processes and ideas effectively, he explored Japanese brush calligraphy to depict complex architectural concepts and connections in startlingly beautiful and simple ways.

Focused on urban design and place-making approaches in the Northeast corridor region, Joe's interests lie in forging connections within urban environments, coordinating between architecture, urban design, and infrastructure. A firm grounding in architecture's rich history as well as an appreciation for the diversity in contemporary architectural trends help him orient his projects toward fundamental principles that enhance the quality of everyday life.
