Jan Řídký is a physicist who has been a scientific researcher at Fyzikální ústav AV ČR a ELI ERIC since 1975. They served as Vice Chairman of the Czech Academy of Sciences from 2017 to 2025 and held the position of director at the Institute of Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic from 2007 to 2017. Jan obtained a Mgr in Nuclear and Particle Physics from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University, and is currently pursuing a professorship at Universita Palackého v Olomouci, which they began in 2014.
